Cast Windows 11 Desktop to Chromecast

How to Cast Your Desktop With Google Chrome

The functionality is exactly the same in Chrome and Edge, but it’s located in slightly different places. We’ll start with Chrome. First, click the three-dot menu icon in the top-right.

Select “Cast” from the menu.

Select "Cast."

From the casting menu, click the “Sources” drop-down and select “Cast Desktop.”

Choose to "Cast Desktop."

Now choose the device you’d like to cast your Windows desktop to.

Choose a casting device.

That’s it! To stop casting, click the Google Cast icon in the toolbar and select the device again.

Stop casting.

How to Cast Your Desktop With Microsoft Edge

For Microsoft Edge, it’s the exact same process except the casting option is under the “More Tools” section of the three-dot menu, and it’s called “Cast Media to Device.”

Click "More Tools" then "Cast Media to Device."

Now you’re casting your Windows 11 desktop to a bigger display without any HDMI cables involved! It’s pretty cool that this all works through the browser. There is some lag—which is to be expected—but it’s a quick and easy way to share your screen.
